Outreach Productions is currently premiering the Christian oriented movie, "Be Ready." “Be Ready” is a story of a day in the lives of people who discover how important it is to “be ready” for Christ. Though this day would start out as fairly routine, it would end in a most dramatic fashion. “Be Ready” is a thought provoking film that will force viewers to examine their lives. In the film, childhood friends discover the real meaning of friendship; a marriage is pushed to the edge of destruction; a father and son deal with the issues of love and forgiveness; and a prostitute tries to find the true meaning and worth of her life.
The film points out how our destinies are determined by the lifestyles we lead as well as the decisions we make. Relationships are challenged when the issue of serving Christ and living holy becomes the focal point of discussion. “Be Ready” is family oriented and is geared towards adolescents as well as mature adults. It will spark family discussions and will touch even those who don’t usually want to hear the lessons being taught. This is a film that families will watch over and over again.

Allan visits the Philadelphia Asylum to meet its famed director, Dr. Gross, and to discuss Gross’ controversial treatment, the “Soothing System.” Allan is shocked when Dr. Gross states that the Soothing System is no longer in use.
As the two men walk Dr. Gross explains his theories of treating the mad mind, disciplining the body, and harnessing the dangerous “irresistible compulsion” that fosters madness. Gross invites Allan to dinner to meet his staff and to introduce Allan to the latest treatment known as the “System of Dr. Tarr and Professor Fether.”
Loosely based on a Poe tale, filmed in daylight, and edited for a new cinematic generation, this film exposes and overexposes Edgar Allan Poe, Philadelphia, and the strange characters that inhabit this mad world.

I experienced the early years of the AIDS crisis in DC and attending marches, seeing the quilt many times, feeling the anger caused by slow reaction to this epidemic and losing loved ones to AIDS, left a scar. Today the fight against this disease continues around the world. I created this Short 7 min video about AIDS in 2008. It not a documentary or educational, it is more a lament for those lost, and a prayer for better care and more prevention as we move forward.
