Emil Bekavac’s Croatian-American background has had a strong influence on his work. Growing up in a small town outside Pittsburgh during the decline of the U.S. steel industry, and hearing his grandparents tell stories about the conditions they fled in Eastern Europe, gave Emil a personal understanding of the effects of depression and oppression. These influences, combined with Emil’s spirituality, led him to his unique artistic style, which calms chaos with the healing flow of chi (energy, or life force). His paintings and sculptures express the soul’s desire to break free from oppression in all its forms. They stir consciousness into action and stimulate evolution toward a better world.

Pryba Fine Art, presents Cesar Augusto Bertel Artist from Colombia, painter, designer and watercolorist, - self taught - after an academic first phase in plastic art at the ateliers of outstanding country artists' , He has a first experience with acrylic, watercolours, charcoals, until decided he decided to pursue his artwork with watercolours concentrating on impressionist and realistic landscaping.
Over the last 15 years of work with watercolours, he has had expositions of his art in different cities of Colombia and outside of the country, individually and in collective expositions. His works full of coloring, transparency, vitality and freedom on its lines, evoke tropical landscape especially from the wild areas of Colombia in the Amazons, Putumayo and Choco, where his living on this landscape for over 15 years took him to discover the infinite polychromic of the jungle, its fauna, the exuberance on its shapes and details, temperatures, its atmospheres, sounds, flavours and silence, feelings of fear, mangrove forests, human colonies, and its rivers with extreme purity of waters: virgins and crystalline.

Thank you to Artomatic for the opportunity it creates for artists of all walks of life (including recovering lawyers), for its willingness to take risks in this most buttoned-down of towns, and for being a much needed breath of fresh air. I am glad to participate as an artist, an advocate and a volunteer.

My photographs come from what I can't see. Surviving a cancer I was told was just there has brought to light many insecurities and fears. I use fragmented non-contextual forms with a lack of identity to depict the need to hide personal imperfections. My suggestions and glimpses of the human form and emotion are shadowed, veiled, and often contained as they are in thought.
I am interested in the subtle nuances and changes in form and identity that flash for a moment and are revealed through adverse experiences. The focus of my lens is on reincarnation, shinjin, and rebirth as part of the Buddhist reality of suffering we all share.
