aesthetic and graphic beauty appear when you know how to see.
my art shows how i see the world, and emphasizes the importance of taking time to really see our daily surroundings, to appreciate the imagery and textures in environments that constantly subconsciously add to our lives.
i appreciate the simple patterns that appear in a wall of cracked, peeling paint ...
i notice the way light shines and catches on my keys, tossed on the side table from when i got home ...
or perhaps walking to work, the sunlight casts shadows in the holes and indentations in the sidewalk, and i suddenly see that one shadow has been created in the shape of a heart.

Culture, geography, history, language ... All are given credit for contributing to the character and context of a "place." But without walls to define, ground to support and doors to allow passage, no matter how apparently mundane, the character of a place, or space, would not be the same.
I am concentrating on these things, bringing an artistic eye, attention to detail, and appropriate time deserved, to study the defining features of our environments.
